We are pleased to present three top local and very individual fashion designers of wool, who have joined forces to put on a Fashion Show of distinction.
This will take place in the beautiful and atmospheric setting of Kettlewell village church. Set against the backdrop of the Dales, the designers who not only use the wool of sheep from the surrounding areas but also strongly support and promote ethical and sustainable sheep farming. The show is supported by the Fashion Team of Morton Gledhill from Huddersfield who will be supplying a number of models. This is a long established company who has built up an enviable reputation nationwide for Fashion Show Production and Model Training. Space will be limited, so don't miss out on your chance to see this memorable event. The show will be run twice during the day at 1pm & 3pm. The Festival entry fee includes entry into this and all other events.
Arts & Crafts
As the key theme of the event is wool, the festival aims to illustrate the qualities and versatility of this natural product through demonstrations and exhibitions.
You will be able to watch the spinners work wonders with wool as the felter and the hooker transform this wonderful fibre into a work of art before your eyes. The festival is also featuring the work of very talented wool and related textile artists that can be found within the Dales and surrounding areas.
In order to illustrate the diversity of wool, don't miss the display in the Exhibition Hall called '101 Things That You Can Do With Wool'. This is the work of the young children who attend Upper Wharfedale Primary School. You will also find the talented work of the very local Buckden Art Group on display in the Hall. Not only are we showcasing the wonders of wool but also we are providing local people with opportunity to share their work with others.
The Kettlewell May Fest is proud to bring an outdoor music stage to the village for the first time.
There is a fantastic line up of music to suit all tastes, from acapella to traditional and modern folk music which fits in perfectly with the beauty of the Dales which surrounds you.
