A new, modern and exciting festival comes to the beautiful, picture postcard Yorkshire Dales village of Kettlewell. The Dales is a living museum of breathtaking landscape that will come alive in a Festival of Culture, showcasing the agricultural qualities found here from sheep to fleece to fashion. This is also a Festival which explores the diversity and richness of wool through art and craft exhibitions, together with live demonstrations.
A Festival would not be complete without live music. Therefore we are planning to stage a full programme of entertainment which gives local musicians the opportunity to show off their musical talent to a wider audience
We can't forget that the Dales is also good at producing Real Ales, so why not come along to the May Day Festival of Wool & Ale.
The main objective of the Festival is to raise monies towards the creation of a Community Garden in the village. As part of this event it is therefore appropriate to support a local Dales Nursery, All Plants North. This is a new hardy plant nursery and shop located in Cracoe, within the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
We are in the process of finalising events for the festival, so the following are subject to confirmation, and more information will follow soon. Planned events include:
