Gun Dog Demonstration

Langstroth Gundogs are based in the rural hamlet of Oughtershaw. John and Lou close spend their winters working their dogs, mainly english springer spaniels, on the local shoots in the area and the summer months travelling the UK competing at all different levels. John has achieved many accolades with his dogs however perhaps the most successful is his daughter Ellie who last year enjoyed some widespread publicity for being the youngest ever junior to qualify for the junior World Series championships. Come and see them and their dogs at Mayfest.

Hawkswick Animals aRe Therapy (HART)

Hawkswick Animals aRe Therapy, based in Littondale, was set up in 2012, to help children in particular, cope with difficult situations eg illness, disability and bereavement through the use of animals. You will be able see the cutest cuddly mini donkeys, alpacas and pygmy goats.

Mark Ineson provides donkey rides to children and adults of all ages. He is especially proud of the friendly and welcoming environment and the personal attention he gives to his customers. Donkey rides are an ideal activity for children of all ages and our donkeys are well mannered and children friendly.

The Young Farmers from Upper Wharfedale will be providing lots of fun and entertainment with their sheep racing and 'Ducking Stool'. Don't miss your chance to have a go at hitting a target which plunges someone into a large tub of cold water.

Tug-of-War at Kettlewell Mayfest Festival


The Young Farmers will also be challenging anyone to join in a team of 8, to take them on in a Tug of War.
